    AmeriCorps VISTA Development & Communications Coordinator Burlington  Vermont

    This is a 12-month AmeriCorps VISTA position that will support ReSOURCE's Development Department helping to raise funds, secure in-kind donations, create communication & outreach systems, and maintain databases to help cultivate partnerships, donations, and best practices.


    Goals of this position:

    •Assist with collecting content/developing website, blog, email marketing and social media platforms to form a foundation for outreach and community connections.
    •Assist staff with strategic thinking, marketing, and knowledge of trends in building network of community relationships.
    •Manage files and develop new methods for archives of all marketing materials, including photos and graphics.
    •Develop and build upon existing community partner relationships to generate in-kind and other donations.
    •Assist in funder research, grant proposal writing, and donor solicitations to diversify program funding and build new relationships that support the sustainability of ReSOURCE and our programs.


    This is a 12-month AmeriCorps VISTA national service position. The candidate for this position will be selected by June 21, 2017. An AmeriCorps pre-service orientation is required in Boston beginning July 31st, 2017. The position will start at ReSOURCE in Burlington on August 4th, 2017.


    Each AmeriCorps VISTA member will receive a living allowance, paid by YouthBuild USA on a bi-weekly basis, based on the local poverty rate. More information about AmeriCorps is available at americorps.gov.


    •The ability to communicate clearly and effectively with constituents, donors, business partners, and the general public.
    •Demonstrate strong professional writing skills and computer proficiency, and public speaking skills.
    •Experience in marketing/graphics software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign desired.
    •Must have a valid drivers license.

    Construction Instructor Barre  Vermont

    Construction Instructor, Barre
    ReSOURCE is an innovative non-profit organization with the mission of waste reduction, job skill training and poverty relief.  The YouthBuild Construction Instructor supports this mission by providing weatherization, construction and job readiness training to young men and women enrolled in the YouthBuild program. The YouthBuild Construction Instructor will ensure that YouthBuild partners learn key construction, weatherization and energy efficiency skills while contracting on and completing projects for mostly low income customers.
     
    The YouthBuild Construction Instructor will report to the YouthBuild Program Director and will work in collaboration with other YouthBuild staff, particularly the Job Site Instructor, to deliver an excellent training program to young men and women who do not have a high school diploma.
     
    Goals of Position
    - Help design and deliver a YouthBuild training program that both teaches youth weatherization and general carpentry skills and provides an essential service that will reduce the energy consumed in homes and the cost burden of home heating on low income families.
     
    - Ensure YouthBuild partners graduate the program with an understanding of the fundamentals of weatherization, construction and customer service and an ability to use these skills in a variety of work settings.
     
    - Support the mission of ReSOURCE.
     
    - Earn income from construction and weatherization contracts to support YouthBuild program and cover all direct service costs.
     
    - Make the program into a nationally recognized model for youth development, job training and environmental sustainability.

    Summer Youth Program Coordinators Various locations  Vermont

    Work Experience Coordinators: Barre, St. Albans, Middlebury, Brattleboro
    ReSOURCE is an innovative non-profit organization with the mission of waste reduction, job skill training and poverty relief.  ReSOURCE applied for funding to offer programming for youth in the summer of 2017. If this funding is received, ReSOURCE will provide Work Readiness and Workforce Development programs in 4 locations in Vermont: Barre, St. Albans, Middlebury and Brattleboro. Because ReSOURCE anticipates receiving this funding, we are recruiting for temporary, full and part-time Work Experience Coordinators (one in each of these locations).
     
    Work Experience Coordinators will collaborate with identified agencies to recruit youth, recruit employers, and provide training. All Work Experience Coordinators will deliver classroom lessons in professional development, evaluate student progress and performance, complete needed timesheets and paperwork for partner agencies, and track student outcomes.
     
    All Work Experience Coordinators will attend orientation and training in ReSOURCE’s Burlington headquarters in Burlington in June before beginning at individual sites. Work Experience Coordinators must be available from June 12 through the end of August. Work after August 18 can be completed via phone and email and is not required to be onsite.
     
    Barre Work Readiness Program: The program will run for 8 weeks, from June 26 through August 18. 5 out-of-school youth will enroll and complete construction projects in ReSOURCE’s Barre facility. Students will earn a forklift certification, and successful graduates will enroll in ReSOURCE’s YouthBuild or Apprentice-Style programs. All students will receive 25 hours of professional development taught by ReSOURCE. The Work Experience Coordinator will work 40 hours per week.
     
    St. Albans Workforce Development Program: The program will run for 6 weeks, from July 10 through August 17. 6 out-of-school youth will enroll and work 18 hours per week splitting time between classroom professional development activities and work-based learning with local manufacturers. Students will earn a forklift certification. Successful graduates will be placed in employment with local manufacturers. All students will receive 25 hours of professional development taught by ReSOURCE. The Work Experience Coordinator will work 25 hours per week.
     
    Middlebury Work Readiness Program: The program will run for 6 weeks from July 10 through August 17. 9 out-of-school and 3 in-school youth will enroll. Students will participate in 4 1-week career exploration rotations in the following industries: Construction, Culinary Arts, Automotive, and Graphic Design
    All students will work 32 hours per week spending time each day on academic skills taught by Vermont Adult Learning, professional development taught by ReSOURCE, and technical instruction which will also include work-based learning with local employers. Students will earn a forklift or ServSafe certification. All students will receive 25 hours of professional development taught by ReSOURCE. The Work Experience Coodinator will work 35 hours per week.
     
    Brattleboro Youth Training Program: The program will run for 6 weeks from July 10 through August 17. A total of 12 students will enroll in one of two program tracks:
    - Work Readiness Training: 6 in-school youth will receive customer service and cash handling training and participate in work-based learning with local employers. Students will work 18 hours per week for 6 weeks. 
    - Workforce Development Training: 6 out-of-school you will enroll in LNA or manufacturing training and participate in work-based learning with local employers. Students will earn an LNA or forklift certification. Students will work 18-25 hours per week for 6 weeks. 
    All students will receive 25 hours of professional development taught by ReSOURCE. Work Experience Coordinator will work 25 hours per week.

    This is a non-exempt position that reports to the IT Manager.

    Website Upgrade Project Management Internship Burlington  Vermont
    Description:
    ReSOURCE's mission is to meet community and individual needs through education and job skills training, environmental stewardship, and economic opportunities. We are looking for a highly motivated intern to work in collaboration with our Development and Operations Directors to help facilitate the new design of the organization's website. The Website Upgrade Project Management Intern will work with store managers and department heads to create content and structure for a completely revamped website.
     
    Interns main responsibilities will be:
    •Interview store managers, department heads, and relevant staff to determine the organization's overall needs for web pages, links, and connectivity
    •Learn ReSOURCE's mission and programs to fully understand potential uses for the website
    •Research website possibilities and trends - determine what forms, styles, graphics, and methods are most effective
    •Provide project management support and administrative support as needed to the Development and Operations Directors in relation to the project
    •Communicate with outside agencies and partners including, but not limited to, graphic designers, marketing firms, and website designer/coder hired by ReSOURCE to launch the new website
    •Write content, choose & edit images, design page layouts, and create graphics
    •Determine the design and final product with the Development and Operations Directors
    •Create a final package of design and all materials to present to the designer/coder
     
    Time Commitment:
    This project will run through the Spring, with targeted completion of the project by the end of April. The intern will work approximately ten hours per week, with a computer and software available in the ReSOURCE headquarters and some remote (off-site) work hours possible.
     
    ReSOURCE will work with the intern and her/his instructors to receive college intern/practicum credit, if available, and will provide technical instruction, work experience, and mentoring.
     
    Requirements/Qualifications:
    College coursework and experience in marketing & design, business management, and project management is preferred. Knowledge of website deign and advanced graphics software a plus.
     
     
    SQL/MS Access Development Internship Burlington  Vermont
    Description:
    ReSOURCE is an innovative non-profit organization with the mission of waste reduction, job skill training and poverty relief.  Its operations are largely funded through its reuse operations. We are seeking a motivated intern to assist us in improving and upgrading ReSOURCE's database.
     
    The SQL/MS Access Development Intern should have visual basic programming, SQL server, and MS Access database experience to contribute to our upgrade, in collaboration with in-house and external database consultations. 
     
    Interns will assist in the following areas:
    •Contribute to upgrades and improvements on ReSOURCE's databases used to manage inventory, people, time, point of sale, trainees, and program outcomes
    •Help improve forms and add ease of use, as well as improve other functionality features, to develop and expand management reports
    •Work alongside ReSOURCE employees and outside database experts
    •Work independently on programming and query writing
    •Maintaining and improving our Social Media presence
