ReSOURCE is an innovative non-profit dedicated to environmental stewardship, educational training and economic opportunities. ReSOURCE’S YouthBuild program is affiliated with YouthBuild USA and provides youth between the ages of 16 and 24 with job skills, leadership training, and an opportunity to complete their secondary education. The primary duties of this position are to support the affordable housing construction and weatherization services of the program. This position will also work with the AmeriCorps Community Partnership Coordinator to coordinate community service activities for the YouthBuild program. This full time (40 hours a week) position reports to the YouthBuild Job Site Supervisor.
This position is expected to work some evenings, overnights and weekends.
Goal of Position
Support the affordable housing construction and weatherization services of the program.
Support affordable housing and poverty relief generally through completion of projects and products connected to housing projects and reuse operations.
Provide leadership, training, and support for YouthBuild partners in the area of community service and leadership.
Support the mission of ReSOURCE.
Ability to stand and bend throughout the work day.
Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds through the work day and up to 200 pounds using a hand truck.
Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
Ability to read, write and perform simple math to complete paperwork and customer transactions.

Maintain safe worksite and ensure safety by following and enforcing all ReSOURCE and OSHA safety policies and regulations.
Role model professionalism for partners, trainees and volunteers.
Together with the Community Partnership Coordinator plan and facilitate weekly community service opportunities for YouthBuild partners.
Train and support YouthBuild partners in the woodshop; evaluate and recognize Partner and trainee progress.
Utilize and involve trainees and volunteers to enhance poverty relief and training goals; evaluate volunteer work; recognize and reward volunteers
Serve as public ambassador for ReSOURCE, YouthBuild and AmeriCorps.
Participate in ReSOURCE, YouthBuild and AmeriCorps training, service projects, and other activities.
Evaluate progress made in achieving the program’s goals; report on progress in two quarterly updates and a final report for ReSOURCE YouthBuild and YouthBuild USA.
Other duties as assigned
Participate in ReSOURCE staff meetings and events.
Maintain a Safe Workplace
Listen to staff members and partners and work together to establish safe work practices in compliance with ReSOURCE and OSHA standards.
Ensure staff and partners have, are trained in, and correctly use appropriate personal protective equipment.
Work with the HR Manager to identify and correct hazards before accidents occur.
Investigate all accidents and create ways to prevent them from happening again.
Hold regular meetings with staff and partners where safety issues are discussed and problems are identified and solved.
