What is Apprentice-Style Training?

ReSOURCE Apprentice-Style Training is a program for individuals to gain job skills and experience to increase chances for their desired employment. Some applicants have been employed or under-employed; others are skilled in trades but are retraining due to downsizing or relocation.

Who can enroll in Apprentice-Style?

Men and women seeking marketable job skills and work credentials to gain employment.

What training will I receive?

Trainees gain job skills within a ReSOURCE department. Due to integration into ReSOURCE’s daily operations, trainees gain not only technical knowledge, but vital customer service and teamwork experience. Successful graduates are placed with a local employers in full-time positions.

Apprentice-Style Programs


Office Administration
Learn the skills needed to succeed in today’s office environment. Training includes Microsoft Office applications, time and task management, and cash management in support of sales and service operation. This is a 9-month program offered in Williston.
Major Appliance Repair (Program on hold)
Learn all aspects of diagnosing, repairing and maintaining major appliances. All students receive Type I refrigeration certification and may choose to pursue natural and LP gas certifications as well. This is a 9-month program offered in Williston.
Manufacturing 
Learn skills for success in lean manufacturing environments. Trainees prepare for certifications in a variety of industries based on employer needs. Programs of varying lengths offered in Burlington and South Burlington.
Customer Service and Retail Management
Learn customer service skills needed for success in a variety of customer service settings and prepare for positions above entry-level. Trainees prepare for a customer service certification. This is a 6-month program offered in Burlington,  Williston, Barre, and Hyde Park.
