ReSOURCE hosts the only YouthBuild programs in Vermont, but a nationwide network is linked together and supported by YouthBuild USA, a national nonprofit organization founded in 1990.
ReSOURCE YouthBuild is recognized as an AmeriCorps National Service Site. All students are co-enrolled as AmeriCorps members and are required to complete 675 hours of direct community service during their enrollment. In return, students receive a bi-weekly financial stipend, along with a $2,200 Segal Education Award upon completion.
Students complete their service hours through affordable housing construction, weatherization, and disaster response services, and through the weekly, student-led, direct service projects for community organizations and individuals in need.
The impact that our ReSOURCE YouthBuild students make on the community through these service projects hold tremendous weight for the program. In a given year, each YouthBuild crew will complete 20 community service projects working with different organizations and community spaces; such as Vermont Food Bank, Respite House, Shelburne Museum, Burlington and Barre Gardens, and Burlington Parks and Rec.
