ReSOURCE, initially ReCycle North, began in Burlington, Vermont, 30 years ago as an innovative initiative to repair and resell household items, diverting them from landfills. It has since expanded to offer more opportunities for at-risk youth and low-income Vermonters. ReSOURCE has trained over 3,500 individuals through job skills training programs, imparting technical and professional skills for gainful employment. The organization emphasizes environmental stewardship, educational training, and economic opportunity in Vermont, committed to teamwork and collaboration across its programs and departments.
The main goals of ReSOURCE include empowering individuals through workforce development, alleviating poverty, and promoting environmental stewardship. These are achieved by training disadvantaged youth, preventing material waste by repurposing goods, and offering programs like the Essential Goods Program to help those with low income.
ReSOURCE offers various programs like training initiatives, career start programs, and services, including the Essential Goods Program. We also provide major appliances, building materials, computers, electronics, and furniture at affordable prices.
ReSOURCE is also a registered Microsoft refurbisher and offers full-service computer repair and upgrades, tackling electronic waste issues. Our services include diagnostics and repairs for Windows PCs and PC tune-ups.
ReSOURCE’s appliance technicians provide full-service repairs for large appliances in Vermont and are certified in refrigeration, LP (liquefied propane gas), and natural gas. We refurbish and sell various appliances like fridges, ranges, washers, and dryers, contributing to environmental sustainability. Repair services include a base fee and additional charges for extended work. We also offer installation services for appliances. Inventory varies daily, so it’s advisable to contact the nearest store for current stock.
You can get involved with ReSOURCE by donating, volunteering, joining our board of directors, or participating in internship opportunities.
