Old Spokes for Good Folks

Big shoutout to Old Spokes Home in Burlington for providing bikes to some of our YouthBuild students! The students headed over last Wednesday, where they were able to pick out their own bikes for getting around town.

One YouthBuild student was so ecstatic, commenting on how she could get around to her different appointments so much quicker this way. “It really brightened her day and outlook, something that can translate into her energy for her school and jobsite work,” said Pam, YouthBuild’s Employment & Transition Coordinator.

Old Spokes Home is a  bike shop and a nonprofit that offers many ways to gain access to a bike. They offer repairs, new & used bikes, and job training. They are located in the Old North End in Burlington.

In a parking lot, beneath a cloudy sky, a member of the Good Folks community beams with joy. Clad in a black jacket, gray pants, and vibrant green sneakers, they proudly stand with their Old Spokes bicycle amidst the backdrop of cars and trees.
